Daniel Martínez (b. 1995, Barcelona) is a lens-based artist whose practice investigates environmental transformation and political ecologies in an era of global shifts. Working at the intersection of science, technology, philosophy, and “nature,” Martínez employs a conceptual, investigative approach that combines cross-disciplinary media. His work questions dominant narratives, explores unseen phenomena, and speculates on alternative pasts and futures beyond hegemonic perspectives. He holds a Master in Design (Photography) from ÉCAL, Lausanne, and a Postgraduate Degree in Documentary Photography from IDEP, Barcelona, complemented by specialized training in mountain guiding, hiking, and graphic design. Martínez has also participated in international seminars and workshops, including Forensic Architecture in Latin America, New Ecologies, and Speculative Documentary Photography with Max Pinckers. His work has been presented at major venues and festivals, including Paris Photo (Forest Agency), Swiss Photomonth (We Do The Rest), Les Rencontres d’Arles (Tara Verte), Verzasca Foto Festival, and Biennale dell’Immagine Chiasso (Rifugio Pubblico). Projects have been featured in PhMuseum, Yogurt Magazine, Altaïr Magazine, and presented at Offprint Paris, Vevey, and London (Tate Modern).
