Pemanagpo (b. 1990) is a Switzerland-based multidisciplinary artist, performer, and director whose practice spans visual arts, theatre, performance, and new-media experimentation. They began working as a visual artist in their early teens, expanded into performance art in 2012, and started directing theatre and film in 2021. Pemanagpo holds a Master’s degree in philosophy and completed postgraduate training as a Jungian psychologist, bringing a depth of theoretical and psychological insight into their creative work.
Following their studies, Pemanagpo spent five years between Northern India and Tibet, immersing themselves in physical theatre, performing arts, and Tibetan Buddhism. Today, they divide their time between Basel and Zurich, collaborating with the new-media collective Lampyridæ and curating events at the intersection of art and technology. They are also a member of Zürich-based queer-feminist performance collective Finsterbusch and the international dance-theatre collective Slogans, headquartered in Dresden.
A science-fiction and futurism enthusiast, Pemanagpo integrates AI research into their artistic practice, experimenting with generative technologies since 2020 while critically reflecting on white and cis-male-dominant narratives in tech and art. Summarizing their multidisciplinary approach—spanning art, theatre, Jungian psychology, spiritual practice, and writing—they describe themselves as a “professional fairy-taler_ess,” exploring collective myths and intimate, sensual dimensions within technology and science, areas traditionally devoid of such perspectives.
