Every day, millions of women experience abuse and harassment at home, at work, in public spaces, and online. Much of it remains unseen, dismissed, or normalised.

This publication explores the often invisible forms of abuse that hide in language, gestures, power dynamics, silence, and trust. Through stories, fragments, and reflections, it invites readers to look beyond stereotypes and recognise how deeply these patterns are embedded in everyday life.

Created as an awareness project, this book challenges comfortable assumptions and encourages difficult but necessary conversations. Because what remains unseen does not disappear, it simply continues.

Aleksandra Cegielska (1985), a Polish artist based in Basel, Switzerland, creates works that explore sociological themes through mixed media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, and performance art. Cegielska’s artistic practice serves as a bold declaration of defiance against societal constraints, particularly those imposed on women. Rooted in the vibrant language of feminist pop art, her work examines themes of identity, gender, and societal hypocrisy. She merges humor, irony, and social critique to disrupt the narratives that define and confine marginalized voices.
