Pudendum #5 by Lucia Fischer
This work exudes self-assuredness. The female figure stands in a delicate yet open pose, showcasing her softness and femininity. Her stance is intentional, asserting her right to be present and represented. Her body is rendered in light shades of blues and lilacs, with a reflective light highlighting her left side. There is a coldness about her, not in demeanor, but in the porcelain-like quality that underscores a gentle elegance of existence. Gold leaf adorns her nipples and vulva, emphasizing these areas as valuable and important to be seen, rather than hidden. She stands amidst minimal plant life, with much of the poppy-red archival paper left exposed, drawing focus to her and only her. The artwork is mounted on a float with a white vitrine, encased in a high-quality stained linden wood frame, protected by UV92 museum glass from Ateliers Juranord GmbH.

About the Artist
Lucia Fischer is an artist whose life has been marked by constant movement and immersion in diverse cultures. Born into a world of change, she has lived in the deserts of the Middle East, the tropical climates of Southeast Asia, and various regions in Europe and North America, finally settling in Basel, Switzerland, in 2021.
Her rich experiences inspire her art, reflecting the lush plant life of jungles and the shifting sand dunes of deserts. Initially forced to pursue practical subjects, she graduated as a cinematographer and screenwriter in 2012. However, her passion for art led her to study Fine Arts at UP Diliman in 2015. Leaving the institution in her second year, she pursued her art independently.
Her debut solo exhibition, “Asexual Adoration,” in 2016 marked her presence in the Philippine art scene. Taking place in August 2024 in Eleven Ten Studio "Shame on you, shame on me" is her first exhibition outside the Philippines, showcasing her unique artistic vision.
