Arlo Jake Lagmay was born in The Philippines and has a Bachelor’s Degree and License in Architecture. At age 5, he learned by himself how to pronounce the word “Idea”. “I never realized it would take me so far. Perhaps, that was one of the reasons why I love to create something out of nothing as well as learn various languages, culture and travel to different countries in Europe, Asia and North America.
But even long before becoming an Architect, I know I was already an Artist. It was just recently I decided to spend more time creating, to water the emerging artist inside me once more.” artist states.
Despite various styles of art styles and niches, he wanted to challenge the extremities by merging opposite ideas or principles, from painting Feminine and Masculine, using abstract and imaginative figurism, up to judgmental and reassuring faces. Most especially, Arlo knows that blending the dry gouache with a forgiving oil paint would result unvarnishable art pieces that might even get brittle and pale as time goes by, but he managed to depict the clearest “observer-relative” images of chaos and order, merged together. After all, that is the purest form of reality.
